Valkyria Chronicles

Valkyria Chronicles is an impressively good game. Hailed as one of Sega's masterpieces from the last Gen , the game is truly deserving of the critical acclaim it received. The games is unique in almost every category, gameplay, story, art. In terms of Story , Valkyria Chronicles doesn't blindly jump into the game, but it talks also about the cost of war, which is rare in any game. The story is majorly about welkin and his squad 7 militia who are made up of common folk, this is a story of a man who is a teacher, but rises up to become the hero who saved the nation from its time of crisis. Throughout the story we're treated through a whirlwind of emotions constantly reminding us that War isn't won be battle hardened super soldiers, but by normal citizens who have put their lives on the line to defend the ones they love. In terms of the game's graphics, the beautifully cell shaded characters and narration of the story through the pages of a book gives it an extremely

Spice and Wolf. A date delayed by a decade

10 years ago, I came across an anime which was the most unique show I had ever seen. The show was called spice and wolf, an anime which talked about medivial economics, strategy, politics and among others. With its fantasy twist and an unusual main cast ( Wolf God and Merchant guy), I was immediately in love with the show. I even made a post on the blog about it. http://stupidsamasblog.blogspot.in/2009/09/spice-and-wolf.html?m=1 The show spanned two seasons and OVAs , but unfortunately nothing more was made. The novel on the other hand kept going strongly until it wrapped up recently. So, finally after all these years I have decided to go back to the story and live it to the fullest. 18 full volumes! Dear Holo, I hope it's worth it :)

The Rising of the Shield Hero (盾の勇者の成り上がり Tate no Yuusha no Nariagari) I have never particularly read much light novels before. Or perhaps an official translation at least. My previous attempt never really got me into the genre. So, back in November in a whim I picked up the first volume of " The rising of the shield hero" . I wasn't sure what I was getting into, but for the most...I am glad I did. Light novels have a certain peculiarity to them. They spin, great complex stories, but at the same times isn't too verbose about it's story. This is probably what made me read through all the officially translated 9 volumes available out . The premise iself isn't the most orginal , basically normal guys get summoned as heroes to this Fantasy world which also plays out like an RPG... Sounds like  SAO, eh?  Well, that's where the similarity ends. The protagonist , a.k.a The shield hero, gets framed for rape gets ostracized and literally gets thrown into the gutt
